Shrimathi Selvi Chandranathan is a renowned Bharata Natyam teacher. She has been teaching Bharata Natyam for over 35 years and has earned the titles "Bharata Kala Bhushani" and "Bharatha Natya Kala Vithaki". She is the founder and the director of the "Bharata Kala Nrithyakshetra", a school that is devoted to the extensive training in the Kalakshetra style of Bharata Natyam. She was awarded at the Arts Recognition and Talent Search Program by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts.
